All the circuits have a relative affect on the others, but as you tune the carbs "from the top down", i.e., main jets, then jet needles, then pilot, any negative affects that you might encounter in the lower ranges, while changing things up higher, will be worked out - the key is tuning in this order, it cannot be stressed enough, that you gotta get them dialed in one at a time, and resist any temptation to make changes to two circuits at once, unless it's a bike you've carb-tuned before, with similar mods, and you just know what combination will work.

By the way, with a 4 into 1 and slip-on, but still with a stock air filter, I personally, would probably start with 138 mains rather than 140, so that way if it is clearly running lean still, you can make a step up, and confirm you're going in the right direction - you might even end up with 142 mains, who knows? What I'm getting at, is, if you start at 140, and it doesn't run right, you'll have to be very consice when determining if you're problem is from being rich or lean, so you'll know whether to start going up in size, or whether to go down... honestly, it's kind of a "crap shoot" when you're getting started, but you'll get it worked out!
