Default Jets???pilot screw??? Flat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay everybody, I have a 93 600 and it seems to be running lean at 5500 to 7000. RE-jet or raise the needle?? its a bit flat on the bottom but think I can take care of it with the screw? As far as I know it just has stock jets, it also has an after market pipe (D&D). When I'm riding on the interstate it kinda surges/misses a bit around 5000- almost 7000. after 7000- hold the hell on. ???? Any ideas???

full exhaust or just a slip on? i don't think you will need a rejet kit with only a slip on unless you had a K & N to go with it. when was the last time the carbs had a go over. might need a syncing.
