Default infamous "strange noise"

So was riding my bike for awhile and then let it sit for like 20 minutes. Now when I start it and let it run there is a tick tick tick noise that speeds up with the engine from idle to 4000 rpm then you can't hear it. The person before me installed a manual cct. I hope this isn't the problem. Maybe it is just the valves working that is making the noise. What do you guys think?

Infamous double post.

But yes sounds like the cct sounds like you need to tighten it a bit

Ok so I watched a vid of someone adjusting their cct. They loosened the lock nut and turned the bolt counter clockwise until it was noisy they then turned the bolt clockwise until the noise was gone then they turned it a 1/4 turn more and tightend the locknut. So... if this is the problem then I will have results. I just got my bike out of the shop and he put in 3 valve shims. I don't think it would be the valves but I guess I will see later today

so I tried adjusting it and I backed it out and I heard no change of noise twisted it in nothin I twisted it in until I could feel it start to vibrate and no change either way. So I twisted it out and tightened the lock nut and it makes a whine noise when I give it throttle. I backed it out some more and tightend it and it still whines. So I pretty much don't know if I messed up my cam chain or what I don't feel comfortable riding it in fear that I will mess something up. So now what?

whine = too tight.
rattle = too loose.

if in doubt take it to the shop.
DON"T ride with the CCT super tight.... a little tight won't cause disaster but way over tight WILL cause disaster
