Help! CBR600F2 died! Stuck on the side of the road!
Help! Stuck on the side of the road! 1994 CBR600f2 died while riding. I was going nicely, and the bike slowly lost power until it just died. (About 30 seconds at around 5000rpm) and now won’t start again. Really wants to start with choke and I got a little sputter out of it once, but no actual start. Throttle cable feels a bit funny now, like it’s binding. I have gas, so I don’t think it’s that. Thanks everyone!
Nope, not that. Throttle cable looks great, just needed lubed. It got tiny bits of gas for awhile, and would do "mini-vrooms" (catches and starts for a split second) with full choke. Now i have nothing. I removed the tank, and It starts if i put my fuel hopper in. I am in the process of replacing both the fuel delivery lines and the tank shutter vacuum lines.
Most efficient troubleshooting, as in quickest and least expensive, is to replace the only ONE part that's bad. How to do that? Through testing and measuring numbers.
Could just be diaphragm in petcock was cracked or ripped with age. Verify with flow test.

Then if it doesn't hold vacuum and has low flow, get petcock rebuild kit. Done!
