F2 turns over and over and over won’t start
F2 turns over and over and over won’t start hello I have been re-doing a beat up F2 it was running badly before I took it apart clean carbs put back together now all it does is turn over. I remember hearing something about I needed a 9 V signal to my starter instead of the 12 but I do not know what this means. I’m getting spark and using starter fluid and gas directly into the car and I can’t get a pop any help would be appreciated also what Wires in the diagram need to be connected to just start the engine forget all the lights gauges I just want to know because I do not have a fuel pump it is gravity fed but all the schematics I look at seem to have a fuel pump
ok, couple of things right off the bat.
1. Immediately STOP using starter fluid. It is not helping the situation. If you do get an ignition, you could do serious damage to the carbs, bike or yourself. I've seen air boxes explode.
2. You don't have a fuel pump. You don't need one. F2 are gravity feed. Which brings us to #3.
3. The petcock is vaccuum operated. It need to be hooked up by the left side carb or you will get no fuel flow. Check this. Make sure you are getting fuel.
4. If you're not getting any popping - Check to make sure you didn't accidentally disconnect the wires to the coils. Make sure the kill switch is on.
5. If you've messed with the plug wires at all, make sure they are back in the right order.
6. Your starter NEEDS 12v at least, it should be getting battery voltage so 12.8v or more.
Hope this helps a bit. And oh yeah, stop using starting fluid.
