Default F2 keeps popping ignition fuse

my F2 project bike has hit a snag; as soon as I click the run switch to "on" it pops the ignition fuse, but if i leave it in off the starter works (no spark though)

it didn't do this a week ago, but it just started.... nothing has changed wiring wise so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas?

okay, upon further teardown, it seems that one of my coils is popping the fuse; bad coil or loose wire grounding it out?

they both check out on the DMM for resistance though

when mine did that, it was the connectors to the coils. if you notice, the coil's two connectors have a rubber cover over them - well mine some how got cut and the connectors were grounding out on the metal underneath them. i put electrical tape (several layers) underneath and that fixed my problem.

this was it. you could see where it had arc'd through the rubber and burned holes in it

also, idiot previous owner had the coils on upside down and I never noticed

it still won't run though :|

it's funny cuz i am actually black. haha.

DrexNX - good deal. now check to see if your coils are the culprit for not being able to start. you could be getting spark but not enough.

hmm, when I checked they were sparking pretty bright

I think its more I was trying to start it with no airbox on and it just couldn't get a rich enough mixture (and I didn't wanna try starter fluid lest it backfired)

Awesome, it's nice to see more brothers on sportbikes. I feel like I'm the only non squid sportbike riding black man in the whole damned San Francisco Bay Area sometimes.
