Default f2 bogging/air intake

Ok I have a question I hope somebody can help me with...i have a 94 cbr f2...I had a problem with bogging when shifting to 6th gear, then in 6th little or no acceleration no power...but if I down shift to 5th i have plenty of power.....So I pulled the air box off and notice the throttle cable was loose so I tightned it a little...also i had unscrewed all the gold screws on top of the carb but I screwed them back in....also Ive noticed that there are two small hoses coming from carbs 1 and 2 and carbs 3 and 4,, not connected to anything, so I pointed them outward so why I was riding air would go in....needless to say I put everything back on and went for a test ride....from take off I could notice more power, hit the freeeway and the bike started running like it was being flooded so I came off the freeway and bike cut off and would only start with the choke on and only for a minute....

so i parked it thinking it was flooded and came back the next day and directed the carb hoses back the way the were....each one individually hanging there in front of the carbs....Road the bike and it ran perfect full power and acceleration, ran pefrect for the last two months then all of a sudden a day ago I was riding and I noticed the same loss of power and no acceleration in 6th not as bad as it was but it feels like its getting there and now once Ive been riding the bike for a while it starts to low idle like its about to cut off but it doesnt....Sorry for the long post just wanted you to have a clear picture..
Please help!

On my '91 F2 I have a single vacuum hose that connects from carb 1 to the gas tank petcock. All the other carb vacuum lines should be capped and are only used when syncing the carbs. It sounds like you have hoses already connected for syncing, but they should be capped for normal operation, otherwise you'll be sucking unwanted air into the carb.

Exactly what I was thinking.
They make kits so that you can attach the sync hoses to the intake manifold and then leave them there so it makes it easier to sync the carbs later on. However, they should be capped off and not leaking. If they're leaking, it's gonna cause you to be lean by drawing outside air right into the cylinders and you'll lose power etc.
One hose should run the fuel petcock, and the other three should be blocked off completely.
Check to see if all the hoses run to different spots on your intake manifold. If they do, then that's likely your problem.

Thanks for the replies guys, Ok maybe I shouldnt have said vacuum hose I really dont know what these two small hoese are for.... there is the one bigger hose connected to the gas tank but there is still 1 small vacuum hose coming from in between carbs 1 and 2....and between 3 and 4 and they are just there nothing is blocking them off and they are not connected....In fact I tried plugging both holes up with a bolt and soon as a started the bike it ran horrible and shut off....Does any have or know where I can find a picture of the bike with the tank and airbox off, I had a picture of an f3 but they changed the f3s with the smog stuff so its diffrent from the f2s

those two are the breather lines for the float bowls. they are not capped and are to be left hanging. they are fine like they were.

you will need to replace it with an F2 petcock. the F2 was designed to run fuel to the carbs through gravity/vacuum. the F3 has a fuel pump, which makes the vacuum part of the system obsolete. if you were to take an F2 petcock and open it with fuel in the tank, you would get little to no discharge unless there were a vacuum applied (like sucking) to the smaller connection port. the F3 will allow fuel to run freely out of the petcock, but does so at a lower pressure than what the bike needs (hence the fuel pump). Long story short, you cannot make an F3 petcock work on an F2 without some costly changes in the electrical system to add a fuel pump. your best bet is to replace it with what the bike needs.... luckily for you, I happen to have a petcock from an F2 that is in perfect working order from a bike that i have recently parted out for sale.
