Default Damn you petcock!!!

Well, it seems my new petcock got a small drip once every 30mins to hour or so. I came house and my whole house smelled of Gasoline. My house is small like a double barrel shotgun. It had been on my bike for about 2-3 weeks now with no leaks. It did just get cold again so I dont know if the dramatic temp change is causing it to leak or what. I think I will goto advanced auto or Oreillys and get some thread sealant and see if that works better and maybe take the petcock apart. I really dont want to buy another one so soon. I havent even got to ride the damn bike yet really. Anyone had any luck with sealant's on the petcock?

SJD, is the leak from the petcock threads onto the tank body, or is it leaking from the fuel line clamped to it? Best to dry it off completely and swab for the leak with a try paper towel to locate it. There are sealants at auto parts stores, but you need to ensure it's for use with gasoline. Most aren't. It could also be leaking from petcock body (diaphram valve). Good luck!

Yeah, I double checked that again. It doesnt seem to be leaking from the threads but that was just from running my finger around the base. Last time I got some gas on my finger. This time you might be correct and it leaking from the valve side. It does have the screws in this one. Unlike the stock one.
