Question Confused

So where exactly is the temp sensor wiring supposed to plug into? Like out from the sensor to...where? Because right now, it's going from the temp sensor to another sensor to the left of it. It seems like someone cut it, then spliced it.

Well there is a temperature sensor, and there is a temperature switch, which controls the fan. Not sure if they are directly connected though... Pics?

The temp sensor is right above the thermostat housing. The switch for the fan is mounted on the radiator.

this would be a good time to look at a wiring schematic with the color of whatever wires/plug you're confused about to figure out what's what.

It seems like somethings wrong. The two sensors are spliced to each other.

The plug on the right of the pic is your thermo-sensor (engine temp gauge sensor), the one down on the block is your oil pressure sensor.

They don't tie together in the factory wiring harness. The oil pressure signal wire runs only up to the gauge cluster (oil warning light).

The temp sender wire runs only to the temp gauge in the stock wiring harness. Since they both only conduct the ground signal when open, or the engine heats up - having them connected together like that is pointless.
