Default Cali Bike-camshaft replacement

Seems I have purchased a 1994 California spec bike. Assuming this due to the evaporative cannister. Apparently the cams are different and reduce the power output appreciably. Thinking of picking up some used cams off ebay. Wondering if anyone has experience with or knowledge of such a change?

After much searching I believe I have a few ways to confirm this is a California bike. If so, it appears that what is required to return it to 49 state compliance and thus the additional power:
49 state cams
49 state CDI
Re-jetting.

Anyone have comment?

Might as well close this out. Appears to be too much work/expense associated with making any changes. May just do a complete exhaust upgrade and achieve the same resultant.

imo to make your cali bike to a 49 state bike would be alote of work..cams,jetting,cdi box,cam timming, air pump, evap system, pair system,..changing the cams to a 49 state would be the best thing to do as for the the cam specs for the cali model are .220 duration .263 lift to the 49 state cam specs are .325 lift .235 duration...that would at least put you at the same hp as a 49 state bike...the other things like evap, pair, system you could just take off the bike..

Thanks for the reply. Likely will take a stab at it in the fall. For now just getting the necessary items and prepping the bike for a season of riding.
