Took my '04 F4i to the track...
Well, I just got back from Bithlow tonight in Orlando, FL and I had an absolute blast riding down the track. I had never really done a stand still launch before so I was terrible at it and pretty nervous. The first couple of runs I was only revving it to around 2k and I don't think I ever revved it higher than 3.5 on a launch. I really don't care but next time out I'll try 5k or so. Either way I had an awesome time. I need to lose some weight that's for sure! I'm 6'2 225lbs with the gear on. My first run ever was a 13.57@116. My best of the night was a 12.67@113. I definitely think 11's are possible but I need more practice as I only got 5 runs in.
Anyway, I made a video.

Enjoy my slowness.

nice man, i'd love to get on a drag strip just for hahas, although planting a knee in a hairpin is more my thing.
definitely work on the launches, its not so much about more RPM on the launch, but about clutch control. you want to drop it as quickly as possible w/o lifting the front end to much. the reaction time and the 60 foot times are a great metric to watch when working on your starts. also (can't tell from the video if you're doing it or not) learn to clutch-less shift. it will lessen the amount of time you are not on the throttle, therefor making your times and speeds better.
great job though, keep it up

Oh I'd much rather be dragging a knee than going straight but it was still fun. Thanks for the advice. My 60' times definitely sucked. lol I had better 60' times in my F-150 when I took it there than I did on my bike. lol I agree about the clutch but I if you don't have it revved up high enough as you let the clutch out the bike bogs so I need to find the happy medium where it's revved up high enough so when I let it out it takes off. And I was using the clutch the whole time.
lookin good man, looked like you won most of your races even though you didnt think you were that fast so thats saying somehting
o yea i wanted to ask to, was that one guy in jeans? i always thought u needed full gear to drag it... if not i should check my local track because i would love to take a few runs but dont have the $$ for a full suit ATM
