Here in nc if you get your permit you just can't have someone on the back.

NH says one permit in per lifetime, good for 30 days, no passengers, no riding at night, no out-of-state riding, helmet optional ("Live Free or Die" bishes!)....FWIW, I always wear my lid...too scared not to.

In PA you have to have your permit until your 18, before 18 you have to have someone ride with you(on another bike), no passenger, and cant ride at night. After 18 you can ride by yourself and can get your license.

By the way you got real lucky. Be careful

So, you're one week into riding and you're going 90 and pulling wheelies? Ok, terrific...

+1 Aken ^^^^ And to the guys talking about riding on a permit....The reason you ride next to a more experienced is because they were a noob at one time too, they should have to the intelligence to slow down for you and understand you're learning. Give you pointers and teach you as you go. It sounds like someone was saying you should go out with new riders so they don't push you, instead lets let the blind lead the blind. Someone is destin to get hurt on that ride. And if you're riding with you're "friends" and they're not slowing down to help you learn, I wouldn't call them "friends" at all. I ride like a bat out of hell when i'm by myself and with other experienced riders but if i'm going out with someone learning, I slow down. I've been down a few times and I would rather my "friends" learn from my mistakes and know that a bike is something that needs to be respected. That's why you ride next to an experienced rider like someone over 21 with a MC endoresment as it's law in most states.

oh and to the origional poster, lol. I've had the same thing before and most likely the cop being a rider himself knew that you could have taken off and respected the fact that you stopped. That's what the cop told me. I was tucked for about a mile cause it was cold out and my visor was up cause it was covered with bugs (I went through a cloud of nats) and when I sat up to check my mirrror-lights. So I pulled over and he was a rider as well, we shot the **** for a bit and he let me go.
