Stock clutch is as good or better than any aftermarket clutch. My 954 has nearly 30k miles and I have drag raced it fairly regular for the past 2 years with no problems.

Any idea of the materials the OEM is made from? I've seen some clutches state you cannot use full synthetic oil with the clutch. Any issues with that in the OEM?

Not sure on OEM clutch material. I have been running full synthetic oil in my 954 since I got the bike in 2009 with no problems.

aftermarket clutch plates aren't the exact size of oem, and after drag racing, they'll ruin your clutch basket - so use the stock plates.. they're stronger, and they fit right. but aftermarket clutch springs are a good idea. barnetts are good. i'd give those a go.
