So my friend and i found a massive empty road out in the middle of BFE and decided to race eachother a few times. We started from a roll and always in the same gear. In 4th i would take him but in every other gear 2,3,5 his would have a 3 bike lead before i started to catch him. Is this just cause the power band is different in our bikes?

When we did a few racing from a stop ones i would rev to around 5-7k and lay on the tank and then let it out just enough to drag the clutch and start going and at around 1-2 seconds i would let the clutch out. It would only pick up a very small amount and was very comfy. Is this a normal launching range?

Yes im fairly new to racing and understand that bikes have different bands. I cant wait to get to a track. Im getting hooked.
