Wheel Clear Coat...rattle can?
Hey guys I'm not sure where to post this but I chose here....so here goes! I bought a bike with badly polished lip on the wheels and the spokes/hub were stripped as well. well, they rode it liek this for several years. Anywho...I polished the lip and sand blasted the spokes and hub. My question is what clear coat can i use from a spray can that will do a resonable job at sealing the wheel and preventing re-oxidation? The only wheel-specific clear coat available locally is dupli-color. I dont want to have my scoot down forever so what can I use to create an OK wheel? My bike is a '99 900RR thats no trailer queen, but at the same time, I dont want to create a rat-rod outta her!! Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

RE: Wheel Clear Coat...rattle can?
Pulling the wheels off your bike will take maybe an hour.
Find a panel shop with a spraybooth that will spray your wheels with clear epoxy paint.
(You can mask up the tyres but thinners and rubber don't work well together)
Rattle can paint won't last IMHO and it'll look even rattier than before.
Do it once, and do it right, then forget it.
