Default Clear coat

I just got my bike custom painted but I dont think they put enough clear coat on. Can someone tell me how to clear coat my bike. Do I have to take it apart or can I tape everything off and do it. On a scale 1-10 (10 hardest) how hard????

If you had it painted at a shop take it back to the and get it fixed. Why do you think there isn't enough clearcoat on it?I would recommend trying it yourself. Its not the easiest thing in the world.I've painted for ten years and if you don't have enough clear than you will have to sand it and clear it all over if you want it done right.

i cleared my bike. you SHOULD pull all your fairings etc off and do it right. a good air-gun, good laquer etc. sand between coats and polish. i set up a booth with plastic to do mine to keep it in a controlled environment but to each his own. the prep makes all the difference. good luck!

I wouldn't recommend lacquer for my lawn mower it's not as durable as the clearcoats out today.I've had some many problems with lacquer in my years of painting bike and cars. They will not hold up against the uv rays and just dull out and fade after a while.
