Default Tank Pads

I want to get a gloss black tank pad for my F4. I have checked Ebay and there are quite a few on there and the prices can range a fair bit. I guess the question is...does it really matter what pad I buy or are some of them of poor quality? Does anyone have any suggestions...or other places to buy other than Ebay?

Lockhart Phillips has some good quality looking ones. Here's the one I ended up getting: LINK.

EDIT: Never mind about the link. Just noticed you replied to it already, lol.

Thats true....but if they start to peel and you have to take it off will that destroy your paint or is there an easy way to get them off?

Usually on eBay the ones that are more expensive are better quality. I have done some looking on there and was going to buy one. There is some really sic CF ones that look to be good quality that go for about 15 bucks.
eBay protip: try not to buy anything shipped from hongkong or china, taiwan ect. unless you want to wait 3-5 months.

Like i said i got a pad for $5 shipped and as far as the quality its just as nice as my friends pro grip tank pad. and your ebay "protip" is not true because the tank pad was here in less than a week.

I think shipping time may depend of size. I ordered a front fairing from Hongkong and it took at least a month if not longer but that is a big box. I would expect smaller items would be faster.

It seems almost all of the nice pads are CF...I really want just black so the cheapy ones may be my only option...5$ or 20$ they all look identical. (Of course they may be different manufacture.)

Carbon Fiber is nice. But I just ordered my pad today, from the UK, and it's like a black and grey interlaced look. Like CF, but a little lighter. I think it'll match my seat a little better. It's what you like, and don't worry about price, unless your jammed on a budget. Then don't be buying tank pads.

I ended up buying a gloss black pad off ebay, well I should say my wife bought one for me for my b-day. I think she paid around 15$ for it. It looks pretty good, I will install it as soon as I get my bike back from the shop which better be this weekend.

On a side note, I just put my tank pad on today, put it up much higher and closer to the tank than normal. I know most put there's close to the seat. How I ride, if I hunker over, that more on my jacket would scratch the tank, than my crotch. Don't know about you guys, but I don't have stuff on my jeans 'down there'
