Keeping your tires black
i mean i tried this method over the weekend and yeah tires are nice and black but the edges seem kinda smooth and hard... not real rubbery...not greasy though but this only feels this way on the edges probably because they arent used frequently Maybe....I did wipe the tires off with a soapy spunge... was that a BAD IDEA? If so what to do for peace of mind?
Some people don't know that tires have a chemical in them that helps them be a little stickier. I don't think using harsh chemicals like carb cleaner or Lacquer thinner could be good for this chemical. It may in fact dry a little bit of that each time you apply the stuff.
Boraxo and a scrub brush works fairly well. I just don't like anything that might dry up the sticky that's in the tire

When cleaning my bike last week I decided to spray the rear tyre with black'n'wet tyre spray to get that new tyre look.
After letting it dry I left for town and the first long corner I came to the rear was a good bit skittish.
A week later and the marks on the driveway are still present. Dare say I wont be using that crap again.
