Default How much water is too much

I removed all of the fairings from my F4i to get cleaned up. If it put my nose fairing (lighting attached) into the deep sink, and was it, will I short anyting out? (silly question, but gotta ask) In other words, how much water can it withstand? I know they are designed to withstand weather.

Nothing will short out as long as there is no power being supplied to it while you are washing it. however if there is any water left in any part of the fixture that has power going to it that allows it to contact the positive to the negative side then it will short. my suggestion is that if you need to wash it this way allow at least 2 days of drying time before reinstalling them.
