Yeah, that is very true. I wasn't even looking to spend over 6500 but that bike caught my eye. I am going to the dealership today and will see if we can work something out. If he wants to drop it down to around 6300 I will most likely take it. Its just seems hard to find a bike that I really like that is in good body condition. This one only has 2 - 3 scuffs (one on the nose and two smaller scuffs on the sideback and below the RR decal) and they look like they are on clearcoat only, easy to buff out. I will have to keep my eyes open def.
Also the other thing that I am always aware of is the mileage, 5900 miles. Odometer fraud or barely ridden? Its in very good condition so I think that it is true mileage. Are there any tell tale signs to look for if someone disconnects the odo, or is it unnoticeable?

well the bike doens't run without a speedo... so if anything somone bought another speedo.. racked up all the miles on that one, and then switched and put the stock one back on, but i doubt that happend, alot of people just dont ride these as much as they can...

As far as I know, it is acutally not too bad to have a bike shipped. It was going to be almost even for me to drive to SaltLake City from my place in Colorado as it would have been to have it shipped which was around $350. So, I drove and picked it up just so Icould personally inspectand make sure everything was kosher.Do the math on your time and gas. If your time, gas andprice of bike cost more then the one at the stealership why waste time and drive 300 miles or whatever to get a cheaper bike only to end up spending more.
Another reason I liked dealing with a private seller was the tax/registration break. Im sure the rules/laws are differentfrom state to state but it can workin your favor here.Lets just say I paid 5k for the bike, but on the paper work itmight say something different like 1,500... That could save a person a couple hundred bucks, or the way I look at it, some sweet add-ons to the new ride!

back to the question...yes it is a good thing to relieve the back pressure only if the bike has a power command...you need to be able tore-map because if you dont the bike will lose hp...and it will be real sluggish....learned that one the hard way...

you need some back pressure for performance .. period... if someone gets full exhuast and eliminates the valvue in the middle of the exhuast.. and get's it mapped correctly.. yes that is good you can gain some decent WRHP but you need the combinantion o fthe least postivice - close to zero - back pressure possible with the highest gas velocity achievable to creat performance....
