haha, i seriously thought about suggesting that the other day - it'll make the bike feel way quicker.... well, it'll feel like you get on the gas MUCH faster. they make quick turn kits (standard 1/8, 1/6, and 1/4), but an R1 throttle tube is a much better alternative as it'll only cost a few bucks on ebay.


hey letsride, do you know if the throttle tube for the 1000rr and 954 are the same?

 

Is there a specific year for the tube or does it matter? And I did a little reading about the flapper mod. Some people say you get more hp at low RPMs. Is it worth doing?
Also, I was thinking of getting a Two Brothers black Series M-2 Flange on Aluminum Exhaust... thumbs up or thumbs down?

 

yes, do the flapper mod. it's a BS piece of plastic in the airbox that gets in the way and it makes it much harder to work on your bike. also look into the PAIR delete. again, making your bike simpler and easier to work on makes it a more reliable and better motorcycle.

as well - don't be afraid to look into used equipement - it'll be way cheaper and you'll get a much better bang-for-your-buck.(i've never bought anything "new" for my bike). get the exhaust you want to get. but don't waste your money on a can when you're going to buy a full system down the road

I'm not sure which year about the quick-turn tube - but i'm sure letsride will get back to you on that.

 

On the R1 tube,any R1 year will work as long as its not the fly by wire model.I go to Yamaha and order one say 05,06.The oem is stronger than those from Ebay.Plus its like $12.00 new.When you install it,you need to adjust the cables all the way out.Start by the throttle side and then go by the throttle bodies.Then just adjust to your liking at the tube side.Then notice the difference when on the throttle,takes a bit to get used to it so be careful.Do it at the same time when you do the flapper mod,since you have to remove the air box.

 

I don't know for sure.You can also use one from a ZX10,but you'll need the throttle housing as well.

dont know much about Hindle. Ill go do some research. Im finding that exhaust for the 954 are pretty limited. but keep an eye at for me bro
