Thought replacing my throttle cables would be a piece of cake. I was wrong, taking the old off and putting the new on the underside pull cable to the Carb is a joke. I almost decided to take the carbs completely off until I got lucky and finally got it

 

Throttle Bodies carbs were gone a bit before.

Last time I checked, the 954 is fuel injected and has throttle bodies. The 954 does not have carbs, maybe that why you had such a hard time replacing them? Lol

 

+1....the '99 900 was the last year for carbs. The 929 was first year of fuel-injection.
