third gear wheelies
Never tried it, on purpose that is. I've always been pretty partial to second gear for standups myself, but next time I'm out maybe I'll give third a try to see if I like it or not. It just seems like you'd be going pretty fast when you set it down if you were in third when you bring it up, second seems to shoot up to BP a little easier/faster/more predictable...
Ice 3rd is where its at bro
If you are at balance you wont gain speed, also going a little faster brings your BP a bit lower, does make it a little easier i think. It does come up a tad harder until you get used to it, but once you are, it comes up just as easy and quickly. the other thing i like is its not nearly as twitchy, seems soooo much easier to control, and i use a lot less rear brake. Heres a vid from a few days ago just for fun, 4th gear (his bike is -1 +2). Was shot on friends 01 R1, my bike is still broke and he was out of town
Oh and sorry for the shake, wife is still learning to vid, but she gettin better.

Here is a couple 4th gear i edited into slow mo of just pullin it up, maybe it will help Rippa to get you an idea of body position. No they weren't clutched, however i do recamend it. I just cant clutch his bike as well as i would like to, itsa bit messed up.

Yeah it looks pretty smooth in those videos you posted TK, I'm waiting for a warm day here so I can get out and give it a try. It looks like we won't be having any decent weather until Saturday so I'll be waiting a little while [>:]
Trying to learn how to wheelie but not to good at slipping the clutch whats the best rpm range to rev to in 2nd gear before disengaging the cluth any advice would be great I guess my biggest problem is being scared of dropping my bike especially when I never been down
Dont know, i have never looked at the tach or speedo. Dont want to come off like a d*@k but if you dont know your bike well enough to know when your in the power band, wait a lil longer to wheelie. Usually some of my first advice when people ask what speed or what rpms to be at is, put tape over your tach, you cannot look at your gauges and perform a wheelie. Also if you are scared at all for any reason dont do it, your fear will keep you from doing it right.
