There you go bro, download the electronic technical manual..... They have troubleshooting procedures to diagnose the R/R

Got that one downloaded and printed. I thought you were talking about the owners manual. To be honest I didn't even think to look for it until he mentioned it lol. That's what I get for assuming I guess!

Higher octane does not cause detonation, fuel with to low of an octane rating will.

I would also agree with vapor lock. My buell cycles the fuel pump when it's hot to prevent vapor lock. Try flipping the run switch a few times, next time.

Default Update

Ran the bike until it was 216 degrees and cut it off. Tried to restart but it wouldn't. I used my spare key to pop open the gas cap incase it was vapor locked but she still would not start until cooled off. There goes my vapor lock theory...

The vapor lock is happening in the fuel lines. Opening the gas cap isn't going to do anything. Try wrapping the fuel lines in heavy duty tin foil and see if it does it again.

Did you try cycling the run switch a few times so the pump will pressurize the lines?

I have checked the R&R and it is within proper specs.

I ran a tank of 93 octane non-ethanol gas and still had the same problem. I will try the 87 octane next bc they don't have a midgrade at that gas station. I even tried cycling the run switch but that didn't help.

throwing this out there, but it could be worth a check: crank sensor? that causes problems with heat... i had a gs500 that did exactly what you're talking about and it ended up being the crank sensor

either way, its electrical since it's an issue with heat

Yeah I think it's definitely an electrical issue. Did you try bypassing that sensor you were talking about, letsride?
