Default spark plug change

I think that I need to change my spark plugs. Can anyone tell me how they removed the coil and plug? And any suggestions on replacement plugs? I am planning on racing WERA this year.

The easiest way is to raise the tank (prop rod is attached to bottom of seat) then remove the airbox and heatshield. Now you have easy access to the coils and plugs. Disconnect the wire to the coil and twist and pull the coil off the spark plug. This way is much easier than trying to change them from the front by dropping the radiator as stated in the service manual.

As for plugs I would stay with the stock plug NGK IMR9C-9H. You can buy these plugs from just about any auto parts store much cheaper than from motorcycle stores.

^^^ yup, just what he said....

but to make it easier on you, have a spark plug socket with 2 short extensions and a magnet to pull spark plug out. that crossbar will be sort of in the way, but with two short extensions and a magnet, its really easy and quick.

That's my write up on blocking off the pair valves, but you'll have to remove most of the same stuff to get to the plugs. Plenty of pics as well. Hope it helps.
