i got $4100, but i feel like i really gave that guy a deal. we were asking $4500, the guy didn't have all of that, and my wife just wanted it gone. plus i had under $3500 in the bike including everything, 24.4k miles. another mechanic bought it. he and i got to talking, he started to really appreciate the mechanic touches i made to the bike that weren't really considered "mods", so i felt good about it all in all.
either way, i'm just looking for another project now, plus the wife and i are getting hit hard right now financially, so freeing up some cash will really help us. it'll get us another project and some cash to get my fighter done. and considering it was supposed to be "her" bike and she's a new mom (6mo old), she hasn't ridden since last september - ehh... i guess we didn't really need to hold on to it.
it's funny, i've been trolling CL for a while and have found some really cool bikes that i wish i had the money for - but i needed to sell that one first. and of course, now that i've sold it, i looked at CL today - and couldn't find anything that really got me excited. maybe it's seller's remorse...

Oh ok...how did the fairing hold up to the heat? And do you remember the site you got them from? Sorry for all the questions just always wanted to make my 954 a repsol replica but was afraid ordering fairings and have them crap out
nah man, they're pretty good. they come with reflective foam tape as well - so there was no melting. the paint did crack underneath the air intake cover and one of the tabs on the underside of the fairings cracked. but other than that, they were good. aesthetically, they were really good
all those aftermarket fairings are all the same. i bought mine from cbrfairings.com, but they just ebay fairings. in fact, when i got them, they forgot an "l" in "fireblade" on one of the fairings, but they sent another one out immediately to correct the problem.... remember though, that's still 4 weeks shipping time.
if i were doing it again, i'd pick up rashed oem fairings off ebay and pay a guy to paint them. they might cost a little more that way, but they'd be OEM, and the guy would be fixing them up with paint prep anyways.... plus, you'd have an exact match for the tank.
PC'ing the rims is the way to go too.
i payed $300 for the tank. and that's laying the graphics and clearing over them. there was one tiny dent that he fixed. you could probably pick up a rashed set of fairings off ebay for under $200 if you knew what you were doing - it'd probably cost another $500 or more to paint them. but if your fairings you have now are in good shape, you could sell them for $600 or so - if they're really good. PC'ing the rims is around $100
