Hey.

I took my slip on akrapovic off yesterday to clean it up and noticed there is a spark shield attached to the stock part of the exhaust (triangle piece that fits up inside the slip on). Is removing this ok? Would it make the exhaust louder?

Mine is gone. I am unsure it if will enhance the tone as it did mine at the same time I replaced the stock can.

 

You can remove it, some aftermarket cans require it to be removed. I doubt you will notice any difference in sound though.
