Default Running rich in the morning

Im new to motorcycles so dont mind the question, but on a cold start up i find that its runs quite rich, is it normal until it warms up?? Also what are the best plugs to use and what do you gap them at?? Thanks

Im guessing because its cold it will smell richer because its trying to warm up but im new to motorcycles to so i might be wrong...

All engines run rich on cold start. Engines haven't removed the choke function, they have just automated it.

Regarding plugs, I just went with stockers...

Thanks for the info, but what do you need to gap the plugs at??

Don't change the gap. They will come gapped. I would suggest buying the service manual. They're only 15-20 dollars and come in handy with all of your maintenance.

gap should be at .8to.9 mm stock plugs NGK IMR9C-9H.Plus you can down load the manual here.(look at the sticky)
