so went riding this weekend, the first 15 mintutes my rpm tach woulndt move as the rpms raised, after about 20 minutes it started to work. not sure what the problem is, a faulty wire possibly? any ideas or how to fix this problem.

 

Start chasing wires. Faulty connection most likely behind the instument cluster.
