Default rim stripes

I am thinking of getting some red rim stripes for my bike. Does anyone have experience with putting these on? Seems like it would be hard togetthem looking straight. Here is am example of what I want to get.

i have not had any expeience with these but i can tell you from doing other pinstipe/decal applications that that will be a huge PITA. if you look at the picture on the auction you can even see that they are not straight. if you want that look your best bet would be to get the tires that have the red sidewall stripe. not sure who makes them though but ive seen them around. i wouldnt mind getting a set myself. anyone know who offers those tires?

T...They are a test of patience. I highly advise on ordering them from tapeworks vs ebay though. Quality product! Order the refective tape in the color you want. Its awesome in lowlight/night conditions! Great visibility! Take your time putting the stripes on. The secret is to slightly pull on the tape as you apply it to the rim. The little bit of stretch inthe tape helps you hold a straight line. Name: 954RR005.jpg

I've done these and they are a definitely a test of your patience. Some advertise that you can apply them with the wheels on the bike. BS. Not if you want them to look half decent. As Ironhead says, you need to slightly pull as you apply the tape. Keep a good reference point on the whell and like cornering, look where you wnat ot go with the tape! I got mine off eBay and the tape itself is 3M stuff and good quality. If you purchase on eBay, make sure its good quality tape (and your wheels are CLEAN) and not cheap vinyl or else you'll be reapplying it real soon.

I'd email them and ask if they are pre curved or if ist just a roll of pin stripe tape. If its precurved its not to hard to do but if its just a roll of tape you can pick that up at a local auto store. Its a PITA just make sure the wheel isn't cold when applying the tape.
