hey by the way pimp someone runnin you off the rode DOES NOT constitute the use of deadly force. Sorry buddy you would go to jail if you fired on them. Oh and bout the gettin robbed by gun point in the dark, it might be best to get your *** off the bike an let em have it unless your fast enough to get yours out from under your jacket aim an squeeze before they just squeeze. The biggest thing about this is once or if you ever get your concealed you will learn that using it for the reasons you've stated are not good reasons to have it on a bike.

That is what I said. Duty belt + weapon + spare mags etc. = Armed at work. Been doing it forever it seems. Also keep an AR and a12ga. semi-auto in my work vehicle and an equally capable partner.[sm=teetertooter.gif]

Wow some of you guys need to give CBRinPDX his head back. The bill of rights gives every american the right to bear arms so he is doing nothing wrong here as long as his state will allow it.

Back to the question at hand. The way I understand the law is your weapon HAS to be concealed or you can be arrested for brandishing a weapon. This does not apply to police officers, security guards, armored car employees (ie Brinks), etc etc. So I would make sure to cover it completely. I may be wrong here. If I were you, next time I saw a police officer out I would ask him.

My 2 cents....

The biggest flaw I see in your theory is that people will notice that you have a weapon. The only people that have ever 'tried' to run me over were just idiots that can't check their blindspot, or don't look before they turn, or something else where they wouldn't notice you have a gun. I basically think most people are idiots in a car and don't pay attention to that level of detail to notice, let alone react to you having a gun.

The other flaw... you're on a bike. Even if you never pull it on someone, IF they noticed you had a gun, wouldn't they figure you wouldn't be able to get it out in time? Maybe it would deter some people who don't have a gun to leave you alone, but maybe it would prompt someone just to shoot you or run you over rather than worry about you shooting them while they're trying to jack your bike, run you off the road, or ride on your ***.

On the other side, carrying a gun in a concealed weapon state is fair game. I live in Milwaukee, WI and don't feel the need whatsoever to have a gun (I have not been robbed ever -- knock on wood), but my roommate disagrees -- which is kinda scary cuz he's a psycho, but thats another story. I'm not into the 'people carrying guns' because I think it's too easy for someone to get pissed and do something stupid, but I'm not going to tell you that you cant. I'm not against guns by any means, I just really don't think it's practical or particularily useful in your situation.

Hmm... quick summary for those like me with ADD. I don't think it will help. I think you will get hassled because it is very controversial. Of course you can do whatever you want, and I'm not worried about you shooting someone.
