so after 2nd or 3rd the 54 takes it huh... how are the wheelies on the 54 vs the 51. I'm wanting 2nd and 3rd wheelies with ease... which is better. power or clutch wheelies. and what's the top speed on both.

Both bikes have plenty of power to easily wheelie 2nd or 3rd gear. Clutch wheelies are better. Factory top speed 174 for the 954, and 169 for the rc51.

Anyone wanting to do wheelies through 3rd and 4th is ASKING for trouble. Also, doing it on a liter bike is REALLY asking for trouble. Take the 600 and gear it, you'll have a blast being able to pull wheelies easily in the low end of the gears. My 954 totes wheelies, but its alot more fun on a geared 600.........Keep the wheelies in the alot. The lot is alot more forgiving than a car pulling out in front of u....=-)

that's not all I want to do. I just wanna be able to do it when I want to. my f2 barely pulls wheelies in 2nd... when a bike is 14 years old and 500 pounds it takes off the power... I guess I'm going to just have to ride a few different bikes to see which one I want. was hoeping u guys could give me some advice on the 54... guess not

If you spend a little time in the 954 section you will see that most all of us feel that the 54 is the best mix of power/weight among other things. Do not be discourage or read anything into the fact that no one is commenting on 4th gear wheelies. When I hit 4th gear I am not thinking about riding a wheelie, I am thinking about what is coming at me in triple digits.

There is plenty of advice here, although it may not fit your unique request....
