so i got i have an 02 954rr i bought from a friend. its been rebuilt with cams and valvetrain, bored over .030 with forged pistons and an upgraded rotating assembly.

the guy didnt have a clue about the cam card, or any specifics other than what i just mentioned.

so i need help mapping the bike with my Power commander III usb. i downloaded all the powercommander maps off their site, but i neeed to know how to tune this thing with the cams, full jardine exhuast, and the extra few CCs from the rebuild. i also wouldnt mind figuring out the other mod to give me a few extra RPM. but ive had mixed results with these "chips" , programmers or whatever they call them. I had to spend 2k for a decent software suite to handle my Fbodies, so im wondering if this powercommander can even do what i want it to do, or if its just another velocity stack gimmick thing that will cause me more trouble than its worth since ive got the cams and stuff. ive built a couple of 9 and 10 second Fbodies, so im familar with LS1 edit bigstuffs and tuning software in general. but im not familar with motorcycle engines at all.

Take it to a shop and have a custom tune done.I don't think you'll be able to get a good map on your own.

 

i think i have the knowledge to tune it, i have a wideband and all, but im just not sure that the PCIII has the capability to change eveything i need it too. basically, as i see it, i can only change the ammount of fuel delivery. or can i change the timing, power enrichment, inj slope and all that other stuff to?? what all does the PC actually do?

 

it adjusts your fuel to get the right a/f ratio. as well as ignition advance. And you can get more accesorys with it revlimiter. ignition modual ect.

 

so with just the PC III USB, i can adjust the A/F and increase or decrease timing, as in to reduce timing advance for n20?

 

yes the same as a car. however you can get a dyno jet hub so you can put a regular map on it and have you street map too
