So after 8 yrs of silence im back on 2 wheels.. A 2003 Ti/Black 954

I did a oil change today and filter of course, and the manual says 3.6litres of oil if the filter is changed BUT i dumped most of the 3.78litre jug into her and the oil is actually above the top line.

Can this pose a problem having slightly under 3.78litres in her?

Are you checking the level properly? My bikes says to check the level, with the bike straight up (not on the side stand), remove dipstick, wipe clean, insert dipstick, DO NOT SCREW IT IN, pull it out and see where its at. I just when through this with my brother-in-law on his 2nd VTX 1300, even on his second one he didnt know how to properly check his oil level.

 

No stick on the 954, just the mighty ole oil window.
