Just curious, I just bought a 1998 f3, and wanted to know how many quarts of oil i need for an oil change? And what is everyones opinion on Honda HP4 for an oil in my new bike? We used to run this stuff in all of our race quads in MX, but how is it on the street bike side?

 

Hey man, I've got the same bike and Iam pretty sure at oil change its 3.6 quarts and at oil change with filter its 3.9 quarts. I'am not sure about what everybody else uses but I like honda oil, stays pretty clean

 

thanks for the heads up. How do you like your f3? I think that I am gonna love this bike. All the years that I spent racing motocross I never rode anything but a honda so I figured why change on the street?

 

I ended up needing a little over 4 quarts to change the oil and filter - the service manual said 3.9, so I had to go back to Autozone and buy another quart to finish. I used Castrol synthetic.

 

3.9 qts w/ filter change is all you should need. I run amsoil 10w40 w/ a honda filter.
