Default OIL

Hey Guys, I've looked everywhere around my city for 10w40 full synthetic and can;t find it anywhere. All the bike dealerships only carry synthetic blends.

Can anyone point me in the right directions?

Thanks!

I personally haven't found 10W40 full synthetic (and maybe I didnt look very hard) but I use 10W-30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and never had a problem.

I've read that a few times before. It's alright on the engine to do this?

Well, you will get 1000 different opinions about oil. I've never used "motorcycle" specific oil. Only full synthetic "car" oil. 65K+ on three bikes and not one problem with the clutch or any other part for that matter. Use that information as you will. As for the 10-30, yes, it's fine.

any full synthetic will do. The problem people have with their clutch is when the oil has slippery additives. Personally i use a syn blend motul 10w40. seems to work good.

You could have your local dealer order for you if you dont want tobuy it online, here's a link to the Repsol oil I use. I wouldn't use Mobil 1 for cars because it contains friction modifier, for high revving motorcycles Mobil 1 did come out a racing 4T oil for our bike, since youare paying for synthetic -it's better off using theone designed for. Remember, you are using the same oil for both engine and tranny, having good grade synthetic oil for bikes will give you smoother shifting too. Hope this helps!

I live in Canada. Called all the bike shops and they just carry 10w40 semi syn. I'm going to go on a good hunt now tomorrow morning.

Hey TC,

Thanks! I used the Repsol 4T Syn blend and found the bike was shifting kind of rough. I'm going to try and get my hands on the full syn one tomorrow. If not I'll just have honda order me in one.

Thanks!
