Default No power after 1/2 throttle..-? PLEASE HELP

No matter what rpm im in, if I hammer the throttle past half it doesnt accelerate- it just climbs in rpm and makes alot of induction noise and vibration, but doesnt go anywhere. If i ease into the throttle i can accelerate quickly but is feels like it slows if i mash it. once I hit higher rpm its less noticable. I have +3 in the rear and cantwheelie in first unless i jerk the rpm and bounce it. -second gear = forget about it. I dont know the problem. I had the head off 3 wks ago- could it be timing? Iv only had the bike a month. It has code 34 displayed (plan to fix it this weekend) and i dont know if it has another code after that one cuz i was told it will only display one at a time. I really need help with this one, Im getting REALLY frustrated... IKNOWthis isnot normal, and no i dont have the book for it. any suggestions guys?

Bad fuel pump.... do the test according to the manuel. should pump a certain ammount of fuel in 30 seconds. if i does not it will do exactally what you are saying.

I dont have a manuel for it (my shortcoming I know). I have 13k on the bike. airbox mod, exhaust valve removed, K&N filter, and a 1/2 arrow exhaust -no pc3. How do I check the pump, and can I be sure its that? I dont want to buy a pump just to find out thatit was not the problem. Has anyone experienced this before?

and thanks for thereply Hcstreetriding.

Even at low rpm? id think that it would starve at high rpm if the pump was out?

Maybe i misread it, but sounds like a clutch to me. Here is a link to a manual, download it...........http://www.stephygee.com/954RRmanual.zip

Would the clutch do that? It doesnt feel like it is slipping. It makes alot of induction noise and you can FEEL the bike Bogg andvibrationuntil you back off the throttle a bit then it picks up again.only does it when I accelerate past 1/2 throttle. The clutchdoesnt slip in or out, or jerk the bike.

I didfind a piece of plasticIN the tank that resembles a milk jug pull tab (its not) but it looks like one- blue with coggs and about 1 1/2" around. Does that mean anything?

hey man,i had a gsxr with the same problem, past 1/2 throttle it just wouldnt go, fuc ked with it for a month, then tested the fuel pump and it was only pumping about 1/4-1/2 as much as it should have been and then got a used one, tested it, it was good, put it together and it screams like FA-22 now. no matter what rpm, if you mash it the pump just is not going to get enough fuel to the system to keep it running properly.thats why if you ease into it it does fine, it can get enough fuel there at a nice slow constant rate like that but when you open it up its just starved. Also check your pressure regulator.

The advice i would give is download the manual, read the test, do the test, and then change the fuel pump if it fails and then go out and have a wild time on a good bike. it should pump something like 2 quarts in 30 seconds. TK posted the link to the manual

to test it all you will do is take the hose off the fuel rail, put the end in a big cup/bowl, unplug the fuel pump get two long wires hook the green ground to a the ground on the battery, and the brown/black to the power on the battery and let it pump like hell, time it and then after the alloted amount of time measure how much fuel has been pumped out.
