First of all I am new to this forum.

I just got an 02 cbr 954 with a full yosh exhaust and a power commander this morning. I also have a gsxr 600.

So anyway I am new to the forum. New to Honda bikes so I am saying hello.

Now a question. Is the honda bikes as reliable as the Honda cars. My cousin has an 88 accord that has 450k miles on it. Whats the life of a 954?

 

Congrats on the bike, your gonna love it. Im pretty sure there just has reliable as the cars....thats if you take care of it. I dont know what the life is on them, but have seen some over 100k, mileage stops reading after 99,999 though.

 

This one has 31k on it. Which is a lot for a bike. How often do I need to have it serviced? My gsxr needs it every 500 miles.

 

what kind of servicing does a motorcycle need every 500 miles besides check the slack and making sure the chain is properly lubed?

31k is not a lot of miles, some people have been just duped into believing that a motorcycle is not a economical mode of transportation and just a hobby or luxury.

 

I was told the oil on my gsxr needs to be changed every 500 miles.

I am about to buy the owners manual for my 954 so I have all the info on it.

I already have the service manual. I have the book it came with the bike. Along with the power commander III disk and usb chord.

I did download the service manual already too.

I want the actual owners manual though.
