So im these pics. are the progress ive made thus far with my new devil exhaust, and putting a 1krr tail on my bike

929 sec is dead and the tail end on the 929 and 954 are the same so i figured ide share

 

The 929 and 954 have different tail sections along with different taillights.The 954 tail extends all the way down the lower rail of the rear subframe. Don't you think it would have been easier to modify your 929 tail or a 954 tail with some custom side screens instead of trying to make the 1000 tail fit your bike.

 

PUtting the rr tail on didn't require any modification really and ill be glad once its painted

 

just need to finish up my undertail pain and have my buddy pc it for me... then itll be close to done

 

What year tail is that from? I have been contemplating doing that with my bike or selling it all together and getting a duc. Polar opposite decisions, i know lol

 

so a 04 1000 rr tail will fit on my 03 954 with minor modification ? big fan of those tails !!! but love my 954 s trunk space !

 

Looking forward to seeing the finished tail section! I have always thought that the 1000rr had the best looking tail. How much storage space does it have compared to the 954rr tail section? What mods needed to be done in order for it to fit? This may be my next winter project

Haha, thanks for the update... Man, I've been contemplating doing this swap for years now. I'm thinking if I do I'll end up keeping my 954. You know, just gotta change something up and hate the enormous *** that the 54 has (relatively speaking). Maybe I'll do a rear rebuild to keep it "fresh", haha.
