Default New 954RR Owner

I recently purchased a 2002 Honda CBR 954RR. This is my second motorcycle after I sold my F4i and thought I would introduce myself to this part of the forums. It has "12k" miles on it (front sprocket is -1, stock rear sprocket). It also has a Power Commander III, steering damper, and hi-mount Two Brothers exhaust.

After changing the oil yesterday, I noticed it had a couple big dents in the bottom of the exhaust, so I started looking for used headers/mid-pipe and noticed that stock exhaust has a big contraption that mine doesn't. After a little more searching, found out it is the "EGCV" and it is there for low-end torque. I'm assuming since I have a Power Commander, the previous owner tuned the motor because it feels really strong. I'm also assuming it has full exhaust since the EGCV is missing. I guess I will have to look for another aftermarket full exhaust to replace my dented pipes.

So, if anyone has any used exhaust laying around, let me know!

Hello Pal,
Welcome to the forum, i can't help regarding the pipes i am afraid as i am in the UK.

You will have to report back to us when you have managed to compare the 954 with your previous bike, i can imagine it will be a lot faster and with far more torque. The 954 is becoming a bit rare nowadays, i have had mine just over a year now and as yet have not seen another one on the road ! Safe riding

i wouldn't worry about the dents (unless it seems like the exhaust is pinched shut)... nice looking bike. you may not have a full system, it could be what they call a half system or 3/4 system that eliminates the HTEV, but retains the OEM headers. i wouldn't worry about not having the HTEV there
