Need some exhaust help!
Ok, I have an '03 954rr with an ART Pro Series II bolt-on exhaust. Problem is that the bike seems to be running on the rich side. This was with the stock filter and a K&N that I figured would lean things out.
I can of course get a power commander and custom map to correct it, but am I wrong in assuming that something might be out of whack if a bike runs rich with a stock filter and bolt-on canister?
One thing I did notice in taking the can off, is that on the end of the stock mid-pipe, there is a cone shaped piece with holes in it, that slides into the canister.
Has anyone tried cutting that piece off so that it is more straight-through and improves flow? Is there a reason for that tapered end?
I am having trouble finding info on this exhaust. I know it is made in the UK but after half an hour on Google, I am coming up with nothing, which strikes me as odd.
Could this can be causing the bike to run rich, or is there something else to look for? Should I try another can? I was thinking that a Leo Vince or Jardine should work well.

RE: Need some exhaust help!
ALrighty, took that puppy off and the bike seems to idle a little bittle and revs a little quicker and smoother. Not a night and day difference, but it seems better. I think it was running a tad rich before, and maybe improving the flow a little bit might have leaned it out a tad.
Still plan on getting a PCIII and a custom map, but it seems to be an improvement already.
Thanks!
