Default midpipe?

My bike has a yosh header, and is de-htev'd. It ends in a chrome tip down by the peg. I want to put a muffler on it, but almost all I ever see are slip ons. Obviously, I need the midpipe that goes from header to slipon. off hand, anybody know if the stock midpipe will go on the yosh header? only other question about it I can think of is that I see some stock midpipes on the bay with a cone that goes up in the muffler and some do not have it. what's up with that?

yes it can be done. You just have to modify.

Not to be an ***, but you totally failed to read my post. I have a YOSHIMURA header and no HTEV. It runs fine. I didn't take the HTEV off. I have never ridden another 954, so I have no basis for comparison with/without HTEV. It also runs a power commander IIIR.

I found an OEM exhaust with a erion muffler, inlcuding the HTEV. I wanted to know if that midpipe would fit the YOSH header, because I never can find a full YOSH system, let alone a YOSH midpipe. everything I see is almost always slip on exhausts. I wonder if an automotive muffler shop can adapt a random muffler to fit my exisiting set up?

here is a pic of my setup. The cone thing I see on the stock exhaust is what aroused my curiosity.

sorry i did read the post i just misunderstood it. a muffler shop would be able to do it just make sure that they use a stainless pipe for the build. the cone that you ask about is just a resonator.

I gotta get the fairing off so I can peep it out. I was poking around yesterday, and I'm HOPING they put a tip on it, but it from the clutch side it looks possible that the little ghetto bike shop that did it might have cut the yosh midpipe.

On the other hand, looking at my SS2R SYSTEM on the zx11 (not slip on), it almost has to be a tip because it doesn't turn up at all and it sticks out half the length of the freaking rearset. at that point on my zx11, the pipe is already running up the side. Maybe it had a full yosh system on it when dude wiped out and they just cut it under there and stuck a tip on it.

Ah the joys of buying a previously crashed bike. I imagine the dude feels similarly about the money pit 1979 corvette I traded for the bike. LOL.

Maybe I should just buy some earplugs.
