kn air filter

I have read several times here that on a dyno the K&N will actually cost you a hp or two. I don't know. I just got a BMC street filter to drop in mine but haven't done it yet.
I'm also debating doing the flapper mod while I'm in there but I don't know if I will or not. Anyone think it's worth doing?

Your flapper will always stay open by unpluging the hose. An then stick a gulf tee in the end of the hose.

Yep, I think the flapper mod is worth doing. the best part is it's free an easy to do.

Anyway I couldn't start it up.. I'd wake up the kids. I'll see how it runs tomorrow.
Interrrresting. I'll give it a try next time
Last night I put my BMC filter in and ran a lot of wires for my new bike cam.
I'm heading to Deal's Gap in June and want to get some good footage. I've ran a 420 line bullet cam on my cruiser and it worked great but a little grainy. I just bought a Sony 520 line cam which should do DVD resolution. It's mounted on my front fairing with the cables running under the tank back under the seat and into the trunk. I'll keep my camcorder and mic in there and I'm using power from the bike.
The license plate light isn't being used any more so I'm tapping switched power from there and using a custom made regulator so the power never gets over 10% + or - 12v. . When I fire up the bike the whole setup comes on. I also have a remote "cameye sport" button on my top tree clamp to turn the cam on/off and from standby to record.
I can't wait to get some footage from this thing!

there is a metal rod clipped to the underside of the seat , this is used to hold the fuel tank up while servicing your bike
just throwin' my two bobs worth in , also i've done the flapper mod , it does bugger all.

Just had to clear up the meaning of 'bugger all'
It means that the modification to the flapper valve had no effect.
Good old ozzie slang, can be used in many ways, an example follows:
"G'day mate, wot ya up to?"
"Bugger all"
Translation:
"Hello friend, what are you doing?"
"Nothing"
And as for my ten cents worth on the flapper valve mod, I agree, bugger all.
