Default just installed new pads but now there's alot of drag

Hey I searched this but couldn't find anything so now i'm asking this question. I installed some new pads front and rear and now there's alot of drag. It's hard to push it around now because of the drag. Just wondering if anyone know why this is and will it go away? Also is it bad to be riding with the drag? Thanks

You should have very little drag but not to the extent it is hard to push the bike. Have you tried bleeding the brakes?

OMG! This is crazy. I just installed my new EBC HH brakes tonight and they are doing the same thing. (Only on the front though.) I don't know about Monster, but my bike is not "hard to push". I think what he means is what mine are doing. They just don't want to spin freely at all when they are up on the stands.

So,it would be great to hear frompeople who have installed the front brakes themselves and hear what theirs did. [sm=helpout.gif]

THanks guys!

Make sure the pistons were all the way retracted when installed. Make sure the pads are slid all the way back and seated properly. If thats all good you are still gonna have a bit more drag than you did before. Ya got pads that are full thickness, and if your rotors are still good thickness it will be a snug fit. Take it out for a easy ride, things should settle and seat in after a few miles, and after about 100 miles or so should be back to normal.

yeah i reinstalled the front and back pad and it is alot better now. I might've over torqued the screws and that might've been the cause. I will also get some more miles on the new pads and it should get a lot better. Thanks for the info!
