Default Just about to buy a 954RR in the UK

Ok be gentle with me and i am new to all this sports bike malarky.

I am looking at buying a 954RR (not too sure of colour yet but i do like the red or the blue one). I have heard, on this site i think, that if the bike has an aftermarket exhaust then if it does not have a power commander it can have damage done to the valves ??? is this true ?

F to the UCK no! To maximize performance you need a PC3 with a FULL SYSTEM not a slip-on. There are alot of factors that need to be in play to burn up the valves and dump pipes and a full system is a baby step in that. These bikes can take MAJOR punishment. I have punished the hell outta my 954 and the only time it has ever broke down is when I ran out of gas.

It is unnecessary to have a power commander with a slip-on. It cost more than its worth. Slip-ons only add about 5-8 HP and the power commander is not needed. They are usually purchased for the sound not the performance.....

Will do, there is a decent choice at the moment, ebay seems to be the worse place to buy, the sellers seem to have a totally unrealistic view of how much their bikes are worth, there are guys selling models with higher miles than some dealers !!!! Dream land, they really should look at the auto trader etc before putting prices on them.
