Just "officially" signed up for Liberty Mutual, $31.25/month for liability & uninsured motorist coverage. Went with them cause not many companies will do monthly payments. I can suspend coverage while it's stored for the winter without lapsing and having to get a new policy in the spring, will be either really cheap or free for those months. Wish winter didn't last so damn long but I'm gonna ride until it's gets below 40 degrees outside.

Insurance
Insurance is the biggest con in the world. It definately does not pay to stay loyal to any company these days, unless of course they give you a good price each year. In my experience, each year my insurance goes up, even though I haven't claimed, and I have another years NCB. I'm 58, and have been riding bikes since I was 12yrs old. Unfortunately due to the normal hazzards like getting married and having kids, I didn't have a bike for quite a few years and have had to pretty much start again from scratch with Insurance. The only thing that I have going for me is my age. I recently bought a Kawasaki ZZR1200 which I insured fully comp for £240. When I came to change it this year to my latest 954, they refused to insure it and I had to go to another company. I managed to get it for £180 in the end, but you have to look around. It makes a bit of difference how you store it as well as what securitiy devices you have. I leave mine in a locked brick garage. It has Honda Hiss as standard, as well as a Datatool System 4 Red Alarm/ Immobiliser. I also have an Abus Disk lock and an Abus Chain and padlock. I only have 3 years NCB, as I have changed my bike so much that I keep having to start again, but it all counts. Gocompare is a good sight, but there are quite a few. Be careful with the Excesses as well. I had one company that advertised no Excesses whatsoever, but when I got the policy there was a compulsory £500 excess and a £500 voluntary excess. Needless to say I cancelled it.
There doesn't seem to be any logic in the prices when you go to a new company. I think they just pull a figure out of the air to get you, in the hope that next year you'll just stay with them, and thats when they wack up the price. Especially if you pay monthly like I do and you don't keep a record of last years payments. I know it's a pain, but you definately have to look around.

Agree with you there, esp if you read some of the health insurance companies fine print.... the one I was carrying wouldn't cover any sort of motorcycle, dirt bike, atv, or any watercraft. The insurance on my 954 being 23 is around 65 a month for full coverage with medical end bumped up pretty high. It's worth the extra money for the piece of mind.

I have progressive with multiple vehicles on the policy, no claims, no tickets, squeaky clean record, online discount, defensive driving course, etc. I'm 27 and liability only for my 954 is $39.84 a month. I tried for full coverage and they wanted more per year than I PAID for the bike.....AND....the lowest deductable they could give me was $1,000.00....wtf!. So I went to get a quote from state farm....full coverage with a $100.00 deductable was like $26.00 a month, but you have to have another vehicle on the policy as well. They do not insure motorcycles by themselves. So with car and bike fully covered it raised my total amount per month like $60.00. Their quote for my car was much higher than progressive but the bike insurance was dirt cheap.
