i can see the turbo spooling up on turn and add unnecessary power and the person wiping out... just like many turbo cars (not all) the ones that are boosted for high numbers are more for drag than circuit and 180hp on a bike is alot

Seriously. If a geared 954RR isn't doing it for you, you probably need to look into a busa or zx14 or blackbird. Less money to just buy one of those than to add 50rwhp.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have pulled the motor and it is going to the engine builder. We are planning to do some major stuff.
Balance and lighten the crank
Carrillo rods
high compression pistons
major head work to up the compression
port work
ignition work/mapping
ram air
etc.

Wish me luck. Maybe now I can win more easily.

good luck, all that should net some nice results. But I'd bet concentrating on being a better rider would get you more wins than trying to out horsepower the competition!!!

+1.. I think it would be a ****en blast. Sure, you would have to adjust your riding style.. But would still be a blast!!

[edit:disregard this part, I'm late as ****]To aswer the original question, I'd also say;
Full system(obviously)Raise compression, cams, PC3 to take adv of your new mods, stroke and port the head if you have the $$$$

"High Compression" engines do not use turbos at all!!! and there is a reason for that, the same way that high compression engines run on HIGH Octane FUEL, if you stuck a Turbo on a 12.5:1 CR Engine It would be instant Detonation.... Turbos Generate alot of heat..... And unless you wanna run an air2water IC, it is not a good idea!!

This is why dished pistons and a Lower CR are what you need before you turbo anything, drop the CR down to 8.5:1 land.

The work he is doing to his motor will translate into some very very nice Gains, the CR boost from decking the head, the port job and cams, and the lighter rods and rebalanced crank should be somewhere in the 40hp range. I plan to do similar work on my 2k 929RR this winter, shes fast already, but just not quite fast enough!
