Default I need help with valve springs!!!

Im looking to find valve spring that are tighter. Does anyone here have and idea? I found one kit but its 900$ which is wayyyy expensive for valve springs. Anyobdy know the specs on them maybee i could find a set with a higher spring rate that will fit. Just to slear it up i got new cams for webcams and i need the valves to close faster as they are staying open longer.

mika_u is going to use some kibblewhite springs from a 900rr and shim them to fit.

but you won't find any specifically or the 954. i've looked FOREVER... maybe you could call kibblewhite (or email them) and ask them if they could make some specifically for your bike

What cams are you using? If you use same set of webcams as Conrice there is probably no need for stiffer valve springs. They should be drop-in cams and stiffer valve springs will only rob few hp and wear the heads components faster. And you can shim a little the oem springs allso if your worried that springs will float. What springs where the 900$ springs?

I never asked what brand the springs were . But we ordered an entire head from erion racing . It cam in with aftermarket springs titanium valves ,ported and aftermarket cams. Problem is the head is milled .38 so idk if I can use the head. But the valves and springs are deffinatly getting used. I still have the webcams coming in but were not sure which ones were gonna use now

If the head is from Erion i would suppose the springs to be HRC. If the heads milled you would need probably custom pistons to get the desired deck height and compression. What size are the valves and are you sure they Ti? What about retainers? Are they Ti? I had the impression from what i've read that Erion used HRC:s valve springs and ti-retainer set on their race bikes. No clue about the valves. Why don't you those cams you have? And what are the specs of these cams and who has made them? You could allso transfer everything from that head to another but it would have to be ported and the erion head can have custom valve guides if it uses ti-valves. You could allso order custom head gasket from cometic that is thicker?

Now youve seen some of the head from erion in my thread bit yes we found the head to work with the gasket from wiseco. We found the retainers and springs to be hrc. The cams may have been to a steoker motor. Were looking into which set we want to use. The webcams are most likely because they are in better shape. Anf yes the valves are deffinatly ti. You tell just in the way you pick them up. They are so much lighter than the stock ones. The cams turned out to be erions regrinds by crane cams . Which I posted a pic of in my thread

Did you order the webcams or did they came whit the head allso? And what grind are they? Conrice has 297/116 and i was planning on using 540/116 grind but the price for hardwelds whit hard chromed journals would have been over 1000€ shipped here to Finland and offcourse they would have needed cores from me and mine cost 240€ grinded and phosphated here locally. The cams, head components weight and rev-limiter determines your valve spring need. You have ti-retainers and valves which reduces the spring need because they are lighter then oem and reduce the moving mas in the head. Are the valves oversize or stock size? Did you weight the ti-retainers, ti-valves and hrc springs? I have somewhere the weights of oem components so we could see how much they are lighter?

I could have get the chroming cheaper here but the guy grinded my cams doesn't do hard welding so there is no need for the chrome. 350$ is the pricing at the webcams website. I'm actually talking about the webcams hard chroming and hard welding. The webcams second grind was what i was recomended but 1000€ is lot from cams even if they are made by webcams. Whit the grind you have the chrome is not necessary but whit the second and third option they are both hardwelded cams whit chromed journals allways. How much did our webcams cost?

The spec of the webs i've was recomended:

Grind:
540/116

Intake

Exhaust

Valve Lash (Inch):
.006"
.008"

Valve Lift (Inch):
0.384
0.360

Valve Lift (mm):
9.75
9.14

Advertised Duration:
272°
270°

Duration @ 0.050":
248°
248°

Lobe Center:
106°
108°
= 107° Overall

the valves are oversized. i unforutnatly did not weigh them next time i have to do a valve adjustment ill be going back and really going into detail about the head. ive been getting the itch to ride so im start to move faster. the valves being larger are why there is bronze valve seats.
i got the 540/116 grind with adjustable sprocket and chrome journals. i did order them from webcams which took about a month. i think everything was just over 1300
