help with remote start please on 02 954
yeah, well enough to recognize the Spy 5000m-ish alarm. It is exactly the same as I said., with the orange wire swapping for the brown wire on my alarm
The orange wire connects to a black wire. The black wire is a spliced wire from both the starter button and the kill switch. On my F4i's harness it tracks back to a 10 pin gray connector under the gas tank then goes over to the Engine Stop Relay.
The pink and grey wires are part of the ignition disable function in the alarm. If you look at your instructions, you're supposed to cut a wire in your harness. And these wires connect to the 2 ends of the wire you cut. On mine, the wire needed is the black / white wire going into the light gray part of the ecm modules. With the gray wire from the alarm connecting to the end that goes towards the ECM modules. And the pink attaching to the end that goes away from the ECM modules. This may be important that you get the wire direction correct.
The blue wire on the alarm is the wire the alarm uses to signal the bike start. It doesn't handle enough voltage to actually start the bike so it must use a relay. So I tied it to the yellow / red wire on the bike's starter relay.
Everything left you already know. Red for power, black to ground, 2 yellows to the lights. If you need pics I can try to get some today. But remember there may be a difference between the F4i's harness and the 954's harness.

i have the same issue don't know to locate the connetions to complete this install. the blue is kinda of obvious but where is the specific area to find the other connection points. where is the ecm located and same for the 10p gray connector for the engine stop relay. thanks for the names of the connections just need the exzct location
i sent you a message and for got to include my address it is newmindmds@yahoo.com i was asking about the connection points
If you finish the install, check the parasitic drain from that device. My alarm was pulling huge amounts of amps. Bike wouldnt start after two days of sitting; I let it sit two weeks now, and starts right up. You live in Florida leave it off and save some headache.
What I did to stop the drain on my alarm is, remove the fuse that runs to the alarm unit. With the fuse removed, the bike works just like it did without the alarm. Instead of removing the alarm, because I need it when I park at school, I just removed the fuse when its going to sit for any longer than a day without riding it; luckily my fuse is easy to access. I dont know about your unit or how it works(Id have to look at the wiring diagram), but, if you dont have a fuse running to it, then you might have to put a switch(killswitch) for the main power to the unit, hide it though, so others cant mess with it. Your bike probably shouldnt have more than 0.5 milliamps drain when at rest. With my alarm, it had 12 times that amount.
