Default Fuel Injectors

I have a 2003 CBR 954 that I have let sit for about six months. Went to start it and it is only running on two cylinders and puffing white smoke out the exhaust. Took it to a Honda dealer and a race shop and they both point to bad fuel injectors. Does anyone know the part # for the oem fuel injector?

Thanks in advance.

First off, drain the gas tank DRY. Fill up with some fresh gas and add some fuel injector cleaner to it. Try to run it for awhile and see if theres any change. Run it fairly hard, if it'll run well enough to do so. If not, then just try to make it run sitting at home...Also, i had a similiar problem on my F4i. It sat up for about 10months and was given me the same problem....I found that changing the gas, oil, and plugs fixed my problem....=-)

PS: Another common problem is the Fuel Pressure Regulator. If it goes out, it will flood cylinders #2 and #3 with gas. Causing bike to run on just 2 cylinders most of the time. Also, this will make the bike die on idle alot....=-)

Thanks for all the help. I drained the gas and ran an injector cleaner through it and it still runs like crap. I replaced the spark plugs and ordered new injectors. A new treat when I was running the injector cleaner through it is that it is now leaking what seems like a mixture of oil and gas out of the exhaust. It is just small drops now but can't wait to see what happens next.

I think what happens is that the gas actually breaks down and creates a sort of "gummy" residue, or film, that lines the fuel tank/lines...and pretty much anywhere else that has gas. Thats why u should add fuel stabilizer to any car, motorcycle, or boat if its going to sit for anything more than a couple months...and i think six months is plenty of time for the gas to go bad and clog things up...possibly even a fuel filter. I say try to get all the old gas out and flush the whole system with new gas, injector cleaner, and then probably change plugs, fuel filter, and run a few tanks of gas through it. just my 2 cents....[sm=smiley20.gif]

true .. gas does go bad and screw things up but there had to be another factor or maybe just bad luck 6 months is not that long

Hey, since you're going to pull your injectors out you should stick in some Nitrous. I think a quick shot of that will keep your injectors clean too (and your front wheel off the ground). [sm=nxsmile.gif]
